LS Cable & System preferred supplier of cables for South Korean OWF
South Korean cable company, LS Cable & System Limited, has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the supply of submarine cables for the Shinan-Ui offshore wind farm (OWF) project being developed by Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corporation of Korea.

The 400 MW OWF off the coast of Ui-Do Island in Sinan County, South Jeolla Province, is the country’s largest OWF project, and is more than three times the 124 MW installed cumulative capacity of domestic OWF capacity as of last year. By the second half of 2025, LS Cable will provide all the undersea cables needed for the development of the wind power complex and its link to the mainland, with the offshore wind project scheduled to be completed in 2026. The anticipated value of the contract is KRW100 billion. Both companies intend to commence contract negotiations promptly to discuss product specifications and other relevant details.
